Female driving instructor in Nottingham!

Venus Driver Training is owned and managed by Karen Breedon. Karen qualified as an instructor in 2005 and has been successfully teaching people in Nottingham to drive ever since with many 1st time passes. Mainly working for other driving schools until now Karen saw a gap in the market for an independent female instructor. There are a couple of female driving schools in the area, that offer all things pink but very few independent females offering lessons. Being a female run driving school doesn't mean that we only teach women, nor does it mean that we are particularly girly! Some people prefer to be taught by a woman, some women may feel safer or more comfortable and sometimes men feel more at ease with being instructed by a woman and not a man. Whatever the reason for this preference, the most important deciding factors when choosing an instructor are:

Feeling at ease with them; You will be spending many hours sitting next to your instructor, it's important that you can feel relaxed. This will also help with your confidence. The instructors experience; How many years they have been teaching and their current grade. The instructors success rate; not necessarily the pass rate but whether they can convert pupils of varying abilities into successful and confident drivers.

Recommendations; By far the best way to pick an instructor, if your friend can recommend someone this is a great start, however sometimes one size doesn't always fit all! You may find that the teaching technique doesn't suit you.
Price; This should be mid-high range. Yes, That isn't a typo! A good instructor will be proud of their work and will think it is worth the price. If someone is far cheaper than the others find out why. What car do they drive? What grade are they? What's their pass rate?

The car; This should be in line with the price, in a brand new car you should expect to pay more. If you are in an older car you will probably be paying less, of course this depends on the quality of the instructor as well.

Venus offers the personal touch. When you contact Venus you will be able to speak directly to the person that will be teaching you, so straight away you will start to get an idea of whether they are right for you.

During 2009 Karen has had great success on driving tests, with lots of 1st time passes. Currently a grade 5 instructor, Karen hopes within the next year to have commenced training for advanced driving and to train instructors. Some instructors simply qualify to be an A.D.I and are happy to stay at that level, at Venus it's important that the company develops as much as possible, so other services can be offered and to ensure that you are always receiving the very best tuition.

The tuition car is changed at least every 3 years, in many cases sooner depending on the mileage and running. It's important that you can drive in comfort in a reliable car. Many people choose their instructor based on a car that is similar to one they wish to own when they have their license. Venus currently use a Ford Fiesta. This is favoured due to the size and visibility around the car. It's great for manoevoures and a good size to start you off in.

The first step to finding an instructor is to talk to a few. You will soon get an idea of what is right for you. To contact Venus you can use the 'contact us' page, email: [email protected] Phone: 07872 577296 or even follow us on twitter.
