The Association of British Drivers (ABD) was founded in 1992 by a group of drivers from all walks of life and from all parts of the UK. Aims of the ABD The objective of the ABD is to provide an active, responsible voice to lobby for the beleaguered British car driver. The ABD campaigns for: Recognition of the fact that roads are an essential part of the UK transport system; and that traffic is the lifeblood of the economy. Improved standards of driver training. Realistic speed limits based upon road safety requirements not political correctness. Improvements in road and vehicle safety. More of the taxes derived from motorists to be spent on roads. No motorway tolls, no 'congestion charging', no workplace parking tax. An end to the abuse of speed cameras. |
